14^TH NOV 2014   Dr.Paresh G Kamat gave an awareness lecture on Diabetes to the villagers of Morpilla& also Diabetes Detection Camp and examination of patients was organized in view of World Diabetes Day celebration. 56 patients were examined.

19^th NOV 2014   IMA CQS organised monthly CME on 19^th NOV at IMA CQS Hall which was attended by 32 members. Dr.AshishShrivastava MD IPHB Spoke on “ Alcohol use Disorders�.

 

 

 

19^th NOV 2014 The quarterly news magazine of IMA State Goa was released by the State IMA Team President Dr. JagadishKakodkar, State Secretary Dr. VinayakBuvaji, State Treasurer Dr.AtchutKakodkar, Editor Dr. Deepak Lotlikar in presence of IMA CQS members.

19^th NOV 2014

Second Girl Child in the family was welcomed by Dr.PradnyaKakodkar, Dr.SonuKamat and Dr. SatyeshKamat by presenting gifts and sweets to the family.

 

 

 

23^rd NOV 2014

Hypertension and Diabetes Detection Camp and Sensitometry camp was organized at VaddemSanguem in association with Sri Krishna Jan UtkarshMandal and sarvajanik Ganesh UtsavMandalvaddem. 160 patients were examined by Dr.GanapatiKakodkar, Dr.PareshKamat and Dr.PradnyaKakodkar.

 

25^th NOV 2014

 

Dr.Paresh G Kamat delivered lecture on Hypertension and Coronary Heart Disease to the 200 Staff of Abbott Pharmaceutical Ltd at Verna.

IMA CQS organized a Medical camp for the Special Children at Sanjay School Curchorem

In view of Children Day Celebration Dr.AtchutKakodkar, Dr.PradnyaKakodkar and Dr.VinayakBuvaji examined 55 students and free medicines were distributed.

 

IMA CQS PICNIC

On 30^th Nov 2014 Picnic was organized for IMA CQS members and their family at Goa

Villagio Resort at Betalbatim Goa. All members attended with their families and enjoyed

the picnic.

IMA CQS Organized a CME at The IMA CQS Hall . The speaker was Dr, Aaron D Souza Neurologist who spoke on “ NEUROCYSTICERCOSIS�. 32 IMA members attended the CME. The CME was sponsored by SUN PHARMA.

 

30 ^th OCT 2014

 

IMA CQS Branch Organised a CME at O COZIENERO at Chandor. The topic for the CME was “DIABETES REVISITED� by speaker Dr. Rajesh Bhutkurse Diabetologist. 22 members attended. The CME was sponsored by NOVARTIS diabetes DIVISION.

13^th July 2014

IMA CQS in association with SRI RADHA KRISHNA JAN UTKARSH SANSKRUTIK RIDA MANDAL organized a diabetes and Hypertension detection camp at Shigao village.

Dr. Pradnya Kakodkar, Dr. Trishna Mopker, Dr. Madhusudan Nadkarni, Dr. Ganapati Kakodkar and Dr. Paresh Kamat examined 168 patients Dr. Pradnya delivered an awareness lecture on Diabetes, Hypertension and Cardiac diseases.

The Glucose strips were sponsored by Paarth diagnostic lab.

CME :

18th July 2014

The 7^th monthly meeting and CME was held on 18 July 2014, at 8.30 pm at IMA CQS Hall.

Speaker: Dr. Rajesh Javerani . Topic : INTERESTING CASES IN MEDICINE

The CME was followed by fellowship and dinner sponsored by LUPIN PHARMACEUTICALS.

COMMUNITY HEALTH ACTIVITIES:

5^th July 2014

Dr. Deepak Lotlikar conducted a Lipid Disorder camp at his clinic at Quepem which was sponsored by Abbott Pharmaceuticals. 13 patients were screened. 9 were found to have elevated Lipids. Necessary treatment was prescribed.

26^th July 2014

Dr. Vinayak Buvaji, Seretary IMA Goa State delivered a lecture on Cancer Cervix and Breast cancer and BSE at Curchorem. The programme was conducted by Swargandha group Pontemol. Around 40 ladies attended the camp.

OBSERVATION OF NATIONAL DAY:

30^th July 2014 WORLD HEPATITIS WEEK CELEBRATION

Hepatitis B and C detection camp was organized for the students of 11^th and 12^th std of CTN Higher Secondary school Curchorem. 148 students were tested. The camp was sponsored by Abott pharmaceuticals. Mr. Sumeet Shankhla from Abbott Dr. Paresh kamat and Dr. Pradnya Kakodkar attended the camp.

30^th July 2014

IMA CQS in association with Rotary Club of Curchorem Sanvordem organized Hepatitis B and C detection Camp at the Rotary Hall Curchorem for the general public sponsored by Abbott Pharma. 62 people were tested. On the same day an awareness lecture on Hepatitis and other liver diseases was delivered by renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Jose Alvares. 100 people attended the lecture. Dr. Paresh G Kamat, Dr. Pradnya Kakodkar, Dr. Ganapati kakodkar and Dr. Vishnu Sheldekar were present for the camp.

17^th July 2014

Dr. Satish Kudchadkar senior IMA Member was felicitated by Dr. Vishnu Vaidhya on the occasion of Doctors Day on behalf of IMA CQS Branch at his Hospital for 38 years of dedicated medical practice. Dr. Paresh Kamat and Dr. Pradnya Kakodkar attended the programme.

18^TH MAY 2014

IMA CQS in association with IMA State Goa, Goa Medical College, Mukta Opticians and Cipla organized a Netra Deep Camp at Utkarsh High School Rivona. 205 patients were examined by DrPradeepNaik and team from Mukta Opticians. Free spectacles will be given to 156 patients diagnosed to have  refractive errors. 8 patients were diagnosed to have cataract and will be operated at GMC. The camp was attended by  Dr.PradnyaKakodkar  Dr.AtchutKakodkar& Dr. Deepak Dangui and 8 members from IMA Students wing.

9^th MAY 2014

IMA CQS conducted monthly CME on 9^th MAY 2014 at IMA CQS Hall which was attended by 34 members. Dr. Rahul Prasad, Neurosurgeon from NUSI WOCKHARDT Spoke on “ Acute Ischemic Stroke. The CME was sponsored by NUSI WOCKHARDT.

The first quarterly issue of IMA NEWS was released on 9^th May 2014 by the Editor Dr. Deepak Lotliker

All Goa Inter IMA Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament 2014 was organized in collaboration with  IMA Goa State, at SAG Ground Curchorem Goa. IMA PONDA won the Tournament and IMA CQS were the Runners Up.

On 6^th May 2014 WORLD ASTHMA DAY was observed. 50 patients underwent Spirometry Test at Dr.Pradnya’sClinic sponsored by Cipla.

IMA CQS in association with IMA State Goa, Goa Medical College, Mukta Opticians and Cipla organized a Netra Deep Camp at XeldemGovt Primary School. 230 patients were examined by DrPradeepNaik and team from Mukta Opticians. Free spectacles will be given to 172 patients diagnosed to have  refractive errors. 10 patients were diagnosed to have cataract and will be operated at GMC. The camp was attended by DrJagadishkakodkar President State IMA, Secretary State IMA DrVinayakBuvaji, DrPradnyaKakodkar  Dr. Paresh G Kamat and 10 members from IMA Students wing.

IMA CQS organised monthly CME on 11^th April at IMA CQS Hall which was attended by 34 members. Dr Jose Phillip Alvares gastroenterologist from Apollo Victor Hospital Spoke on “ Alcoholic Liver Diseases�.

7^th April 2014

On occasion of World Health day on 7^th April 2014 Cycle Rally was organized by IMA CQS Branch for Doctors and family members. DrJagdish, DrVinayak, Dr Anil Kakodkar, DrPradnya ,DrAtchut, Dr Vishnu Vaidhya, DrSatyesh, DrSarvesh and DrParesh participated in the Rally. A healthy Breakfast was organized at IMA Hall after the Rally.

 

 

9th April 2014

DrJagdishCacodcar, Presdient IMA Goa State, conducted a Lecture on World Health Day 2014 Theme: Preventing vector-borne diseases, at the Auditorium, Goa University, Taleigao plateau-Goa. He educated the audience about the major issues related to vector-borne diseases and the WHO steps to their control. He also elaborated on the role of diet and lifestyle modifications for prevention of lifestyle diseases (HT & DM). The Program was attended by nearly 100 staff of Goa University, including the Asst Registrars (Academic, Legal, Examinations). The co-ordinators for the Lecture were Dr Patricia Sequeira (M.O. Goa University) & Dr. Cacodcar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

30^th April 2014

On the occasion of “World Liver Day� a camp was organized at Dr. PradnyaKakodkars Clinic. 40 patients were tested for Liver Function test and HBsAg. Dr Harish Peshwe, consultant Gastroenterologist and DrpradnyaKakodkar examined the patients.

1. 17^th Feb 2014

A Breast cancer and oral cavity screening camp was organized at Cavrem by Voluntary Health Association of Goa in association with the Manipal Hospital Dona Paula. Dr. ShekharSalkar, Dr. PradnyaKakodkarand Dr. VinayakBuvaji attended the camp. 75 patients were screened and further follow up advised in doubtful cases.

 

 

 

 

2. 28^th Feb 2014

Health camp was organized at High School at adopted village Cotarlim, Sanguem. About 44 Students were examined and free medicines were given. The camp was attended by Dr. AtchutKakodkar, Dr. VinayakBuvaji, Dr. Vishnu Vaidya and Dr. PradnyaKakodkar.

 

 

 

 

 

CME:

 

3. 5^thFeb. 2014

IMA GOA STATE  CMEwas organized by IMA CQS Branch on  5^th Feb 2014 at 8.00 pm at Hotel Woodlands, Margao Goa. The topics for the CME were “Clinical Diagnostic Skills� by Dr. MuktaPanda, MD Internal Medicine, University of Tennessee USA and “Pharmacovigilance� by Dr. PadmannabhRataboli,   Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, G.M.C. CME was atteneded by 68 members.

 

 

 

 

4. 14^th Feb 2014

The second monthly meeting of this year was held on 14^th February at IMA CQS Hall followed by CME programme conducted by DrAudumbarNetalkar, neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon on the topic Epilepsy A general physicians perspective. 5. 6th Feb 2014

 

Dr. PradnyaKakodkar organized a fasting Blood Sugar and Lipid Profile camp at her clinic. 40patients were examined.

 

6. 11^th Feb 2014

Camp for Skin problems and disease was organized at Miracles Primary and Secondary School Sanguem. 70 students were examined by RitishaKenkare and Dr. Pradnyakakodkar

7. 13^th Feb 2014

A Spirometry Camp was organized by Dr. PradnyaKakodkar at her clinic. 30 patients were examined. The camp was sponsored by CIPLA Pharmaceuticals.

 

 

8. 16^th Feb 2014

IMA  CQS Branch in collaboration with senior citizens Forum of India organized a Diabetes Detection Camp by Dr Shankar Nadkarni at his clinic at DandoSamguem from 7.00 to 10.30 am. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Vishnu Vaidhya by lighting a traditional Lamp. 42 patients were examined.

30 were known cases of diabetes and 2 were diagnosed to have diabetes. The camp was sponsored by Alembic Pharmaceuticals.

9. 18^th Feb 2014

Dr. PradnyaKakodkar and Dr. VinayakBuvaji conducted thyroid Profile Camp for the teachers and staff of New Education Institute School Curchorem for 50 people.

 

 

 

HEALTH EDUCATION ACTIVITY:

10. 12^th Feb 2014

A seminar on “Adolescent Health Problems and Solutions� was organized by IMA Goa State in collaboration with Indian Medical Association for Adolescent Health and Rotary Club of Panajim for 250 students  of S SDempo College of Commerce and Arts AltinhoPanajim Goa. The guest faculty was DrJugal Kishore Associate Professor of Community Medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi. The College Principal SmtRadhikaNaik, IMA State President Dr. JagadishKakodkar and Rtn. DrPrasad Netravalkar were the coordinators of this seminar.

 

 

11. 12^th Feb 2014

A seminar on “Adolescent Health Problems and solutions� was organized by IMA State and IMA Bardez in collaboration with Indian Medical Association for Adolescent Health at Bambolim Goa.The guest faculty was DrJugal Kishore, Ass Prof. Community Medicine Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi. The college Principal Ms Carol Norhonha, IMA Goa President Dr. JagadishKakodkar and IMA Bardez President Dr. ShaileshHede were the Coordinators of the seminar.

 

12. 13^th Feb 2014

A seminar on “Adolescent Health Problems and solutions� was organized by IMA State andIMA CQS  for students of CTN Higher secondary  School in Curchorem at RavindraBhavan. The guest faculty was Dr. Jugal Kishore, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi. A seminar was conducted on “AIDS Prevention In Youth� by Dr. JagadishKakodkar at Don Bosco College of Engineering for over 200 students of 1^st Year BE followed by interactive session.

On the occasion of world Cancer Day Cancer Awarness Lecture was conducted at Primary Health Centre Kakoda. Dr. GanapatiKakodkar and dr. Pradnyakakodkar delivered lectures to the Anganwadi Workers, Nursing Staff, paramedics and peripheral field workers.
